One of our editors found an enjoyable little bug yesterday. Closely related to an earlier update, it seems that MT generates the filename for an entry before it runs any pre-save plugins.
This becomes worrisome if you've got a pre-save plugin which alters an entry's title, and your archive file template is based on the very same field. Add to the mix a few bloggers who write their titles in Word, and you've got a bonified problem. (Also, a certain editor [Colin] dead-set on destroying the site.)
Anyhow, blogs using an entry's basename to generate permalink filename can stop reading now ... or two paragraphs ago. For those who use an entry's title however, this update uses some javascript to strip naughty chars out of an entry's title before anything nasty can happen.
This is all configurable, and blogs who need the update should swing by the plugin configuration page once they've installed the plugin to make sure everything is set up properly.
